Why does DAKE contain 1,515 mcg of Vitamin A? Is that safe?Updated 21 days ago

The tolerable upper intake level (UL) for preformed Vitamin A in adults is 3,000 mcg RAE per day, established by the National Institutes of Health. DAKE delivers 1,515 mcg — right at about half that ceiling — which gives meaningful therapeutic dosing room while staying well within the established safety range for daily use.

That said, Vitamin A is fat-soluble, meaning it accumulates in body tissue rather than being flushed out daily like water-soluble vitamins. If your diet is already high in liver, full-fat dairy, eggs, or other retinol-rich foods, that's worth factoring in. This is exactly why we recommend getting baseline bloodwork done and rechecking after 90 days of use. There's no universal "right" dose — your biology and diet determine what you actually need.
