Trans-Geranylgeraniol — GG for short — is a naturally occurring compound in the body that sits at a critical junction in a metabolic pathway called the mevalonate pathway. This is the same pathway your body uses to produce cholesterol, CoQ10, and — most relevant here — the biological precursor that the body converts into MK-4, the form of Vitamin K2 in DAKE.
GG is essentially the upstream raw material for MK-4 synthesis. The enzyme UBIAD1 converts GG into MK-4 in peripheral tissues — bone, brain, vasculature — which is how the body produces MK-4 locally where it's needed most. Including GG alongside MK-4 in DAKE supports both direct MK-4 delivery and the body's own synthesis capacity, giving the formula a two-pronged approach to K2 activity.
